MARK REDWOOD

BTF Level 1 Triathlon / STA swimming teacher

Mark has a lifelong love of triathlon and has been racing since the early 1980’s when his dad got him interested. Mark has raced all distances over the years, starting at sprint distance, and then gaining his first GB kit as an elite junior at standard distance in the World Championships in Manchester 1993.

Since then Mark has raced championships at all distances, his highlights being the World 70.3 Championships and the iconic Ironman race in Kona. Mark also spent a few years guiding blind triathlete Tim Reddish and helped him achieve two World Championship wins.

Mark has over 25 years of experience of working within our sport and has seen it grow and evolve. Mark spends all of his time now as a coach and self-employed bike technician/fitter. He finds it rewarding to pass on some of the knowledge he has gained over the years, and to see people achieve their goals and do things they might not have thought possible.

Mark has spent many weeks coaching on the beautiful island of Mallorca and really loves the sunshine and ambience of the Balearics.

Mark says, “when coaching I aim to be honest, approachable and focused on helping you get what you want, I also want you to enjoy your training and not just the satisfaction of crossing the line on race day.”
